  • Cell lines culture | Equinova

Cell lines culture and genetic bank This service involves the creation and maintenance of cell lines derived from equine tissue , as well as the preservation and management of genetic material from these animals. You can preserve your specimen's genetics by sending samples of dermis or bone marrow for cultivation and subsequent cryopreservation. The cultivation of cell lines involves a process where cells from equine tissue are isolated, cultured, and multiplied under controlled laboratory conditions. These cell lines can be used for various purposes, including cloning and regenerative therapies for joints, tendons, and ligaments. To play, press and hold the enter key. • Transferencia de embriones | Equinova

Contamos con un equipo de veterinarios de excelencia y podemos encargarnos de transferir sus embriones en receptoras seleccionadas bajo los mejores estándares de calidad Transfer of ICSI embryos Embryos produced via OPU-ICSI must be transferred to a recipient mare who will carry the pregnancy to term. The quality of the recipient mare is crucial for the ICSI embryo to develop correctly and establish a pregnancy. At Equinova, we have a team of excellent veterinarians and can handle the transfer of your embryos to selected recipients under the highest quality standards . We monitor the pregnancy through successive scans, starting with a first check eight/nine days post-transfer. The expected pregnancy rate for these embryos is around 70%. On day 28/30 post-transfer, an ultrasound is repeated to confirm the heartbeat. The risk of early embryo loss is higher in the first 30 days, as with pregnancies achieved through other techniques or naturally. At 45 days post-transfer, before delivering the recipient to the client, a final ultrasound is performed to confirm the pregnancy. To play, press and hold the enter key. • Cryopreservation | Equinova

Cryopreservation All embryos produced by OPU-ICSI at the Equinova facilities are cryopreserved until the client decides to transfer them to a recipient mare. This is an option to preserve your embryos indefinitely. At Equinova, we also offer cryopreservation of embryos obtained by uterine flushing. This technique allows you to postpone the transfer of the embryo if you do not have a synchronized recipient mare, or simply wish to store them for transfer in other seasons. The embryos, once cryopreserved, will be kept in liquid nitrogen thermoses at the Equinova facilities until the moment of transfer. If embryos obtained by flushing require cryopreservation, they must be sent to our laboratory by appointment. Contact us to coordinate this service. To play, press and hold the enter key. • ICSI post eutanasia | Equinova

Es posible extraer los ovarios después de la eutanasia, recolectar y fertilizar los ovocitos como última oportunidad de obtener descendencia de la yegua. ICSI post euthanasia If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation where your mare needs to be euthanized or dies suddenly, we can offer you a final opportunity to obtain offspring from her, as it is possible to extract the ovaries after euthanasia and collect and fertilize the oocytes . As soon as possible after euthanasia, the ovaries are removed and packaged. Proper packaging and shipping are crucial for success rates. If the euthanasia is planned, we recommend contacting us in advance to arrange for the preparation of materials and the arrival of the ovaries at our laboratory. In the case of sudden euthanasia, your own veterinarian can remove and package the ovaries, which should then be transported to Equinova's laboratories as quickly as possible. Upon receiving the ovaries, we meticulously dissect them, scraping and rinsing each tiny follicle. We examine the follicular fluid under a magnifier. The number of oocytes varies depending on the mare’s cycle stage, age, and possibly any illness at the time of euthanasia. The oocytes are then prepared for maturation, and those that mature can be fertilized with the desired stallion’s sperm using ICSI technology. To play, press and hold the enter key. • OPU | Equinova

Los ovocitos de la yegua donante se obtienen por medio de la aspiración de los folículos ováricos (OPU) Oocyte pick up (OPU) The donor mare's oocytes are obtained through the aspiration of ovarian follicles . The technique used is oocyte pick-up (OPU). To perform this technique, the donor mare is regularly monitored by ultrasound to identify the presence of multiple follicles in her ovaries, ranging from 5 to 25 mm in diameter. When a minimum of 10 follicles are present in both ovaries, the mare is ready for OPU. This technique is performed by specialized veterinary personnel. It is a procedure that takes between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the number of follicles present in each donor's ovaries. The procedure is conducted with the mare standing, under the influence of tranquilizers and analgesics. The specialist will aspirate the follicles one by one, performing numerous scrapings and rinses to ensure the retrieval of the oocytes. The follicular fluid is collected in a container, then filtered, and the presence of oocytes is searched for. Once collected, the oocytes are prepared for transport to the laboratory. In the laboratory, the oocytes undergo a maturation and selection process prior to fertilization by ICSI. To play, press and hold the enter key. To stop, release the enter key. services

  • ICSI | Equinova

Los embriones equinos pueden producirse por fecundación in vitro. La Inyección Intracitoplasmática del Espermatozoide o ICSI, es la técnica mediante la cual un único espermatozoide es inyectado mecánicamente dentro del ovocito de la yegua donante. ICSI Equine embryos can be produced through in vitro fertilization. The most commonly used technique for this purpose is Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection , or ICSI . In this technique, a single sperm is mechanically injected into the oocyte of the donor mare . The embryos are then generated in vitro until the blastocyst stage (a stage at which they can be transferred or cryopreserved). The approximate time it takes to obtain an embryo at the blastocyst stage from the moment the OPU is performed on the donor mare is between 10 and 12 days. At Equinova, all embryos will be cryopreserved. When the client decides to transfer the embryo, they can choose to do so with Equinova through our ICSI embryo transfer service, or transfer it on their own. In the latter case, prior coordination with the veterinarian in charge of the transfer will be arranged to ensure the synchronization of the recipient mare and the logistics of shipping. If the client decides to keep them cryopreserved, the embryos will be stored in liquid nitrogen, allowing the transfer to be postponed indefinitely. We recommend vaccinating your pregnant recipient mare against influenza/tetanus approximately one month before term and against the herpes virus in months five, seven, and nine. Consult your veterinarian. ADVANTAGES The donor mare does not interrupt her sporting activities. 1. More efficient and better use of semen, with higher yield per straw 2. Greater number of embryos/donor/year 3. Can be performed year-round without interruptions. 4. High survival rate of cryopreserved embryos. 5. Obtaining embryos from mares with subfertility/infertility. 6. Oocytes can be sent from any point of the country. 7. To play, press and hold the enter key. To stop, release the enter key. services

  • Embryo sexing | Equinova

Biopsy and embryo sexing Embryo biopsy and sexing are two innovative techniques used in equine reproduction to obtain high-value genetic information before transfer. Embryo biopsy involves extracting a very small portion of embryonic tissue between days 7 and 9 of development. This material is examined in the laboratory to determine the sex of the embryo or to conduct additional genetic tests , such as detecting hereditary genetic diseases. These powerful tools enable breeders to make informed and precise decisions, maximizing the efficiency and quality of equine breeding. To play, press and hold the enter key.
