Why do we believe that OPU-ICSI is set to change
the paradigm of equine reproduction?
Its growing adoption can be attributed to three major advantages:
1
Efficiency in embryo production
• Greater number of embryos/donor/year
• Continuous production throughout the year
• Reduced need for recipient mares
2
Optimization in genetic improvement
• More efficient and better use of semen
• Higher yield per straw
• Embryo Sexing
3
Seasonal planning flexibility
• Embryo cryopreservation
• Donors do not interrupt their sports activities
• Embryo transfer to recipients under optimal conditions
