Transfer of ICSI embryos

Embryos produced via OPU-ICSI must be transferred to a recipient mare who will carry the pregnancy to term. The quality of the recipient mare is crucial for the ICSI embryo to develop correctly and establish a pregnancy.

At Equinova, we have a team of excellent veterinarians and can handle the transfer of your embryos to selected recipients under the highest quality standards. We monitor the pregnancy through successive scans, starting with a first check eight/nine days post-transfer. The expected pregnancy rate for these embryos is around 70%. On day 28/30 post-transfer, an ultrasound is repeated to confirm the heartbeat. The risk of early embryo loss is higher in the first 30 days, as with pregnancies achieved through other techniques or naturally. At 45 days post-transfer, before delivering the recipient to the client, a final ultrasound is performed to confirm the pregnancy.
